Nargis likes to take landscape photos of the sea, nature and animals. One animal that often features in her photos is her cat Jimmy. Jimmy was previously cared for by a woman who left camp, when his previous owner left Jimmy the cat was very sad but Nargis and Jimmy found comfort in one another. Nargis says that; 

“Jimmy knows a lot about emotions, sadness and a lot of things.” Which is why he is the perfect subject to be photographed. 

In the future Nargis would like to be a successful person and maybe become a professional photographer. She is also interested in continuing with filmmaking and acting; because acting is a great storytelling tool and can be used for example to portray the situation for women in Afghanistan.

MAGDA AND PAWEL, BOTH FROM POLAND, WHERE THE NOVEL AND NETFLIX SERIES “THE witcher” is a cult classic, HELPED OUR STUDENTS CREATE THEIR FIRST SHORT FILMS ABOUT “If I was a superhero how would I use my powers?”

THEN NARGIS TOOK A LEAP OF FAITH TO TELL A PERSONAL STORY OF RESILIENCE AND STARRING IN THE FILM AS WELL. WORKING WITH HER FELLOW FILMMAKER MOSTAFA BAHADORI, THEY CREATED “DEFIANCE”, A POWERFUL TALE OF WHAT MOTIVATES NARGIS AND MILLIONS OF OTHER YOUNG WOMEN THE WORLD OVER.

Further showcasing her talents as a filmmaker, Nargis also worked with Mostafa and Somaye on a promotional video for our partner organization on Lesvos “Wave of Hope for the Future.”
