ReFOCUSxDesign
our program started out as part of our pre-production work for our annual Art Under Pressure Arts Festival. Quickly building out from the need to develop a graphic look for our event, we went back to the basics of analog through a design workshops led by teaching-artists who work professionally in Austria and Switzerland.

Our signature Art Under Pressure Arts Festival design, created by our resident designer Eli Fazlollah, was a product of this workshop, as was a series of film posters developed to visually represent work created in our ReFOCUSxScreenwriting program

Original designs have also been produced in our ReFOCUSxKrakow Lab, which provided Ukrainian artists an opportunity to visually respond to the Russian invasion, as well as elements of what it means to be Ukrainian.

After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine we immediately set up ReFOCUSxKrakow to support new refugees and employ displaced Ukrainian artists.

With the war on everyone's mind, the logical reaction in all our courses was to make media in support of their nation.

In our graphic design course, our teaching artists led new students through the process of creating analog designs, and then using Adobe design programs to digitize.

A year after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine our community in ReFOCUSxKrakow wanted to express more than their resistance to the war.

Our teaching artists, all displaced Ukrainians themselves, guided students through the process of visualizing the Ukrainian Alphabet as a driver to showcase their culture.

Since the initial shows, many performing artists work with ReFOCUSxDesign to develop visual shows specific to their musical elements.

Since our first festival at the famous Romantso in Athens, Greece (2023), our festival events are touring European and American cities including Lucerne, Valencia, Berlin, London, New York and Philadelphia.
