My name is Atifa Gardi and I’m from Afghanistan currently living in Germany.
I got to know about refFOCUS when we had just arrived to Lesvos. Unfortunately the endless circle of problems for refugees on Lesvos never allowed me to join the classes until the beginning of the year 2021. I’m very happy that I could join finally.
In my journey I did a lot of things which I never thought I could do. I realized how much I like to draw and paint or take photos and how much I like looking at art.
I understood I don’t need to be already perfect in my artistic practice to do it, because I think art is about people who make it and the way everyone thinks and feels. The existence is unique so the artwork of everyone is unique, too.
