WOMEN IN AFGHANISTAN ARE being ERased

In Afghanistan, women have been erased from public life. They can no longer go to school, work in most professions, and even cannot leave their homes without a male guardian.

but LEARNING has BECOME THEIR
QUIET FORM OF RESISTANCE

Every lesson they take is an act of courage. Support their education — make their quiet resistance possible.

Thanks to your support, ReFOCUS can provide
online training for women in Afghanistan. The “Voices of Afghan Women” project will train 50 Afghan women to learn video and sound production, editing, photography, storytelling, and graphic design. They will gain independence, income, and confidence. This is more than just education. It is freedom in action.

FATIIMA is 25 years old and lives in Kabul

Since the Taliban took power, her world stopped. She can no longer work in a bookstore or complete her studies. She can't even leave the house without a male guardian. Every day, she stares at her phone—her only window to a world where women can still dream.

With your donation, Fatima could start an online course in graphic design, filmmaking, and photography, learn a new profession, and regain her self-confidence. The ReFOCUS Media Labs Foundation is ready to host classes, but we need your help to reach Fatima. Help her learn, create, and earn money online—give her a chance to get back on her feet.

SUPPORT FATIMA

ReFOCUS has been supporting marginalised communities since 2017

By providing them with critical media skills, we have been giving voice and a platform to those normally left out of the conversation. ReFOCUS students in different countries manage to go back to school and the labor market, and many work as freelancers and independent creators.

In Autumn 2025, we started our "Voices of Afghan Women” pilot online program with women trapped inside Afghanistan, which showed us the urgent need to help Afghan women develop high-level skills despite all the restrictions imposed by the Taliban regime.

For women who have been deprived of all traditional educational opportunities, these online trainings are a major lifeline.

We urgently fundraise now to start a full-scale program starting in 2026, giving 50 women a chance to reclaim their voice, their dignity and develop skills to earn income.
