FOR SEVEN YEARS ReFOCUS HAS BEEN TRAINING YOUNG MEDIA CREATORS IN PHOTOGRAPHY, FILMMAKING, GRAPHIC DESIGN AND AUDIO EDITING. FROM LESVOS TO ATHENS TO KRAKOW OUR MEDIA LABS ARE FULL OF TALENTED PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTISTS WHO HAVE DEVELOPED SKILLS THE “ReFOCUS WAY” THROUGH A “LEARN BY DOING” PROJECT-BASED EDUCATIONAL APPROACH.

OUR FIRST MONTHLY CHALLENGE theme was LIGHT & SHADOw, and the winners will be announced on november 15th. meanwhile, WE’RE PUSHING AHEAD WITH OUR SECOND CHallenge in november with a focus on color, so get your cameras and imagination ready!

OUR FIRST CHALLENGE- LIGHT & SHADOW- JUDGED BY DANISH PHOTOJOURNALIST AND COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHER LARS SCHMIDT. He taught with us on Lesvos, and has been a huge supporter and ambassador for ReFOCUS ever since. Each month a different mentor serves TO review ALL submitted images. if your image is selected it will automatically BE included in the next rEFOCUS PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION IN MAJOR EUROPEAN AND NORTH AMERICAN CITIES.

NOVEMBER CHALLENGE:
COLOR

COLOR- A DIRECT CONNECTION TO OUR EMOTIONS AND MEMORIES, IT’S AMAZING HOW THE SAME COLOR CAN CONJURE UP COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FEELINGS DEPENDING ON THE VIEWER. PLEASURE OR PAin, love or anger, safety or anxiety, confidence or reluctance… it all depends on the viewer and the way the artist wields color in their composition.

In our 2nd monthly photo challenge we encourage you to make us feeling something, natural and manufactured, or tell us a story through your use of color. We want to see you develop new images where color is the true star of the imagE, JUST as it is in theSE IMAGES BY OUR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS.
