THROUGH OUR CONNECTIONS TO INDEPENDENT JOURNALISTS AND THE UKRAINE MEDIA CENTER IN LVIV, REFOCUS IS ALSO EMPLOYING UKRAINIAN JOURNALISTS TO CONTINUE THEIR WORK ON THE GROUND IN KYIV. WE'VE ALSO FORMED A COMMUNITY OF DISPLACED MEDIA CREATORS IN LVIV AND CRACOW TO ENSURE THEY MAINTAIN THEIR CAREERS.
WE'RE PROUD TO FORMALLY ANNOUNCE A NEW MEDIA LAB IN CRACOW, in partnership with salam lab and Słowacki theater, which employs ukrainian media teachers, offers summer classes for ukrainian youth, and an arts fund to finance the creation of new artworks by displaced ukrainian artists.
all of these programs are guided by every day individuals on both sides of the border who simply lack access to international aid funding streams. Supporting refocus makes it possible for every day citizens to act upon their convictions in support of everyday ukrainians who desperately need help to survive this ongoing russian aggression.

ANIA i VOLODIA'S
HUMANITARIAN CONVOYS
Despite the challenges of raising five small children along the Polish-Ukrainian border, Ania and Volodia are a Polish-Ukrainian family force to be reckoned with!
Their magazyn (warehouse) and import-export company pol inter-es in Hurko, Poland has become a critical depot for aid from all over the EU. We've been working with and supporting Ania and Volodia's medical and humanitarian aid convoys into Ukraine since the start of the war, and are in production on a film about them.
ReFOCUS has financed the petrol for multiple convoys that transported €175,000 worth of insulin and critical medical and humanitarian supplies. Once the aid reaches Lviv it is sorted and redistributed to impacted areas including Yavoriv, which was bombed by Russia on March 13th. Despite the risks, Volodia has been driving aid directly to Bucha, Irpin and other hard-hit areas around Kyiv. While international aid is slowing, and petrol shortages severely impact all of Ukraine, Ania and Volodia continue to play their part in supporting the critical needs of every day Ukrainians.
